Not to long ago, I wrote about my pumpkin patch. The plants grew with giant leaves and beautiful giant yellow blooms, but not one piece of fruit did these giant plants bear. My hair dresser Paulette read my blog and recently she and her husband Jim were shopping and they spotted a very colorful Petite Pumpkin Patch Planter, with seeds, potting soil and every thing needed to grow the pumpkins. Needless to say they purchased this beautiful pumpkin planter which they presented to me as a gift. This planter will fit right on my out door patio ledge in the full sun, which will encourage its growth. I am eager to get it planted and watch the growth, hoping that unlike my last pumpkin patch, it will grow and bear fruit. I will keep each of you updates with the plants progress.

Special thanks to Paulette and Jim Fey for their thoughtfulness.

Recipe or not! Something to share with those of you not living in Texas.

Texas always has a choice of weather, if you don;t like the weather, stick around and it will change. Decemer2010 has been a little different than most years. Texas is receiving a lot of mositure and is cooler that normal.

The weather has not been good for my winter garden, the vegatables are not growing and producing like years past. I planted Butter Nut squash this year, unlike most years when I have so many I can not give them all away, not one piece of fruit has developed on the plants. The Okra has stopped producing due to the weather, and the tomatoes did not do well this fall. Now, I can not complain, the Egg Plants, Bell Pepper, Cabbage and Broccoli are producing abundantly, more than I can use, so I have delighted in sharing with friends and neighbors. I have been blessed with the most wonderful neighbors and am always happy when I can share with them. God is so good and has blessed me in so many ways. I hope you are so blessed.

I wish each of you a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
